LAKE
DISTRICT - Cumbria Grand Hotel

charming AA 3 Star Victorian Hotel
was
built in 1880 is located 15 minutes from the M6 and is
only six miles from Lake Windermere. Set in 20 acres of
private gardens and woodlands and overlooking Morecambe
Bay and a warm and friendly welcome is extended to all.
There is an outdoor tennis court, putting green and woodland
walk while indoors there is a full sized snooker table,
table tennis table and dart-board. |

day Trip round the Lake District in the morning followed
by a visit to one of England's best loved stately homes, Holker
Hall, which is the family home of Lord and Lady Cavendish. It
is a delightful family home with fine displays of antique furniture
and art. You can tour the house without the restriction of ropes
and barriers, and see the distinguished library, elegant drawing
room, and ornate dining room. Climb the striking staircase and
you can view portraits of Charles II, and Catherine of Braganza
and visit the bedroom where Queen Mary stayed in 1937.
Half day Take in the splendour of the lakes in style,
relaxing on a steamer cruise on Lake Windermere, disembarking
at Bowness. Returning to the hotel via the ancient village of
Cartmel, famous for the 12th Century Priory with its beautiful
stained glass windows and modern sculptures

Half day Our excursion starts this afternoon with a trip
to the ancient village of Cartmel - famous for its beautiful
and historical buildings. Late afternoon we head back to Bowness-on-Windermere
where tonight we take a spectacular 2 hour evening lake cruise
giving the chance to enjoy magnificent views of mountain scenery,
secluded bays and wooded islands. Add to this a fork buffet
served on board and live entertainment from the New Hall Jazz
Band and you have the makings of a perfect evening out.
