WICK HERITAGE MUSEUM & THURSO
Enjoy a morning trip out to Wick and visit the fascinating Heritage Museum which is bursting with artifacts and tales from the former residents of the area. We then travel back to Thurso where you can enjoy exploring the Viking town at your own leisure. There is a lovely beach, high street shops and lovely walks along the river.
JOHN O'GROATS & CASTLE OF MEY
After breakfast we set out on our journey along part of the beautiful NC500 route to John O’Groats. There are shops and places to eat here and of course get your picture taken at the famous signpost. We then take the journey to the Castle of Mey - former home of the Queen Mother. Enjoy a tour of the castle, time in the Visitor Centre and the walled gardens.
SMOO CAVE & NORTH COAST 500
Enjoy the stunning changing scenery of the North Coast 500 today as we journey along by Lairg, Altnaharra and Loch Loyal under the shadow of Ben Loyal, until we reach the Kyle of Tongue. By the scenic Loch Eriboll and our stop where you can explore the magnificent Smoo Cave - a dramatic sea cave set in the cliffside. Re-join the coach as we return along the North Coast 500 back to Thurso this afternoon. (packed lunch included)
THE PARK HOTEL - THURSO
The Park Hotel is a family-run hotel in Thurso and offers comfortable rooms with free wifi throughout. There is a bar offering a selection of whisky’s, malts and fine wines, and the restaurant offers fresh local produce and breakfast daily. The hotel is a stones-throw from the shops, high street & beach. There are many riverside walks to be enjoyed as well. No lift although some ground floor rooms are available. The hotel has steps to the front door.
