Tues:  YORK & KNARESBOROUGH

After a full English breakfast this morning join the coach as we journey out for the full day and visit York & Knaresborough. With time to visit many attractions such as the gothic York Minster, National Railway Museum, The Shambles and many more sights. Sip a drink by the River Ouse and watch the world go by of simply stroll along the cobbled streets and enjoy the city’s vibrant café culture and street entertainers. There is much to be seen in York, and we know you will enjoy your excursion to this fabulous medieval city. On the return to Harrogate, we venture through the market town of Knaresborough, where you will have a few hours here at leisure to explore the fascinating town perched on the banks of the River Nidd. Mother Shipton's Cave is a popular visitor attraction, and there's plenty of shops and cafes to explore at leisure as well. We return to Harrogate and enjoy a delicious evening meal in the hotel.

Wed:  HARROGATE & SKIPTON
Enjoy time at leisure in the spa town of Harrogate today and an excurison to the pretty market town of Skipton. Harrogate is famous for its healing spa waters and has been a popular tourist spot since Victorian times. Explore at leisure the many attractions, boutique shops and beautiful gardens there are in this pretty Yorkshire town. Skipton has a market on every Wednesday, and we have a short journey through the Yorkshire Dales stunning scenery from Harrogate to this lovely town on the banks of the River Aire, where you can explore at leisure the thriving market, medeival castle and many artisan & gift shops here too.  In the evening enjoy a delicious dinner in the hotel restaurant after your day of exploration.

Thurs:  HERRIOT COUNTRY TOUR - RIPON, BEDALE, NORTHALLERTON & THIRSK

After a hearty English breakfast, enjoy a full day scenic excursion through Herriot Country including visits to the market towns and villages of Ripon, Northallerton, Bedale and Thirsk - home town of the famous author and vet James Herriot who penned ‘All Creatures Great and Small’.  Explore Ripon's stunning 7th century gothic cathedral, market square and Georgian architecture. Bedale is a another stop for your today - another lovely Georgian market town which dates back to the Doomsday Book and has a cobbled square, plenty of shops and amenities at hand. Northallerton is a large, bustling market town in the heart of Herriot Country, and in Thirsk you have time to explore at your leisure the many attractions which include World of James Herriot, Thirsk Hall Sculpture Gardens, Thirsk Museum and the many boutique gift shops in the market square. We return to the Cairn Hotel in Harrogte and enjoy a delicious evening meal in the restaurant.
