Excursions

GLENCOE & FORT WILLIAM

Enjoy a lovely scenic drive through the mighty Glencoe scenery today as you journey north to the fishing port of Fort William. Lochaber has some of the most breathtaking scenery in Scotland and here will have time to explore the shops before the coach takes you along the banks of Loch Shiel to visit the famous Glenfinnan Monument.  Return to the hotel along the banks of Loch Linnhe and enjoy the coastal views before returning bak to Oban in time for your evening meal in the restaurant.

OBAN

Spend your free day exploring the capital of North Argyll, Oban The town itself lies in a crescent occupying the hills surrounding Oban Bay and is a busy town with cafes and restaurants, and wide selection of activities and attractions such as McCaig’s Tower, the Colosseum lookalike which stands above the town and features in many of the postcards to be found on George Street and Oban Distillery.

INVERARAY, LOCH FYNE & TARBERT

Enjoy some of the most unspoilt scenery today as we travel south to visit the Mull of Kintyre. Tarbert on Loch Fyne is an attractive village which for many visitors acts as the gateway to the beautiful peninsula of Kintyre. Backed by rugged hills and fronting on to an attractive natural harbour, the village is still home to a working fishing fleet and is an increasingly popular visitor destination. Tabert’s harbour front is very pretty, and is best appreciated from Robert the Bruce's 14th century castle above the town. Only the ivy-strewn ruins of the keep remain, though the view from the overgrown rubble makes the stroll up here worthwhile. There are steps up to the castle and a red way-marked path from the harbour front. After time here the coach will travel along the beautiful banks of Loch Fyne towards Inveraray where you will have time to explore.

THE ROYAL HOTEL - OBAN

The Royal Hotel in Oban, built in 1895, offers traditional Scottish hospitality within modern surroundings. In the very heart of Oban, the hotel's Victorian facade dominates the town square. Affectionately known as the 'Gateway to the Isles', the hotel's central position in Oban makes it ideal for visiting the West Coast of Scotland as well as the surrounding Inner Hebrides.  Original Victorian features are complimented by a fresh new bar area and lounge, and with a roaring open fire makes the hotel cosy and inviting. There is a selection of Sea View & Superior Room Upgrades available plus a Four-Poster Room for those special occasions.
