Experience the Highlands of Scotland in Spring-time whilst being whisked through the unforgettable Scottish scenery onboard a locomotive. A new weekend break this year to our Nethybridge Hotel including 2 world famous railway journeys.

Your day out on Saturday will visit Fort William where you take the train journey on the famous West Highland Line and see the amazing Lochaber scenery. On Sunday there’s another great railway journey on the Kyle Line which runs between Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh offering stunning views of the surrounding lochs & glens. There's entertainment and drinks on arrival too with this fabulous escape to the Scottish Highlands.

Excursions

Kyle Line & Kyle of Lochalsh

After breakfast we travel north to catch the train at Inverness for a scenic journey you will never forget. Travel by train on the Kyle Line and marvel at the stunning views as the train takes you through some of the most impressive and remote scenery in the Scottish Highlands. Arriving at Kyle of Lochalsh to spend some free time before returning to Nethy Bridge by majestic lochs and through  spectacular glens in time for your delicious evening meal.

West Highland Line

Today we travel to visit the mighty Glenfinnan Monument and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Lochaber to the fishing port of Mallaig. Here you can enjoy some time for lunch and exploring the fishing village before boarding the diesel train for return journey to Fort William on the West Highland Line. This  journey is described as one of the worlds most scenic railway journeys and you will get to experience this magical voyage by glens and silver sand beaches before returning in Fort William and the coach will then take you back to Nethy Bridge in time for your evening meal.

 

NETHYBRIDGE HOTEL - SPEYSIDE

Set in a picturesque village in the thriving Cairngorm National Park, our Nethybridge Hotel has welcomed travellers for well over 100 years. Surrounded by lushly wooded Strathspey, the hotel has a wealth of historical importance in the area. Tastefully decorated with traditional Highland features, open fires and a warm highland welcome, you can truly relax in this home away from home. The charming Victorian manor house has 70 bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms, television, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The Abernethy Restaurant has a wide choice of locally sourced foods and the Lounge Bar serves a light but varied menu.
