SKIPTON, GRASSINGTON & YORKSHIRE DALES
Join the coach this morning for a tour around the stunning Yorkshire Dales. First stop of the day will be in the bustling market town of Skipton. Known as the gateway to the Dales the town offers much to see including unique shops and 13th century castle. After time to explore we travel through the beautiful countryside to Grassington, where you can enjoy it's cobbled streets, cosy cafes and views of the Yorkshire Dales all around. Visit the Folk Museum when you are here to learn about what life was like in the town in the last century. We then travel through the stunning Yorkshire Dales scenery to the hotel in the Lakes in time for your dinner this evening.
DOVE COTTAGE, AMBLESIDE & BOWNESS
After breakfast in the hotel join the coach to travel through the lovely lakes scenery to visit the quaint village of Hawkshead. Here you can explore the village and its many shops and tearooms along with Wordsworth's Grammar School and Beatrix Potter's Gallery. We travel on to explore picture-perfect Ambleside. There are some lovely shops here, a 2nd Century Roman Fort, the Bridge House and lovely views overlooking Lake Windermere. Dove Cottage is our next stop of the day - step into another century as you experience William Wordsworth’s life at Dove Cottage. Wordsworth and his family lived in the humble Lake District cottage from 1799 to 1808 and today, Dove Cottage has been brought back to life and the sights, sounds and smells evoke memories of over 200 years ago.
GRANGE, CARTMEL & CONISTON STEAM CRUISE
Enjoy a cruise of Coniston Water this morning on a Victorian steam cruiser. This one hour journey will let you enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the National Park. Grange-Over-Sands is a pretty Edwardian resort which is a short distance from the hotel and has some of the finest parks and gardens on the Cumbria coast, with many of the quaint shops retaining their original Edwardian design, it provides an ideal escape from a busy world with old-fashioned friendliness, relaxation and beautiful scenery. After time here we travel to the lovely lakeland village of Cartmel, famous for its 12th century priory, racecourse and home of sticky toffee pudding.
