Hebridean Island Hop

DAY 1

Once aboard the coach enjoy the journey north to the Highlands for your overnight stay in a comfortable hotel with dinner provided this evening. Sit back and relax this evening before our journey tomorrow to the Outer Hebridean islands.

DAY 2

After breakfast enjoy a scenic journey through the stunning landscapes and vistas of the Isle of Skye. Enjoy a stop for lunch in Portree before we travel to the new port at Uig and catch the ferry for the crossing to the Isle of North Uist, landing in Lochmaddy late afternoon.  The Outer Hebrides welcomes you with its unrivalled scenery as you travel through North Uist and Benbecula for the first of your two night stay at the Isles of Benbecula House Hotel. This comfortable lodging will be your base for the next few nights, with dinner provided this evening.

DAY 3

This morning after a hearty breakfast we travel through the majestic scenery and white sandy bays of South Uist for a full day tour today to Barra. As we take the ferry from Eriskay before landing on the unspoilt little Isle of Barra, enjoy the scenery and watch out for local wildlife such as puffins, dolphins and otters on the way. Barra is famous for its beautiful beaches, hills, machair and moor all in one small island. Journey through the stunning vistas to Castlebay, the islands main town, and enjoy time at leisure for lunch and beach walks. Kisimul Castle is a fortified tower house perched in the bay here, and if time allows you may travel there at leisure by boat. (not included) We then re-join the coach and travel over the causeway to visit the Island of Vatersay. The most southerly of the Outer Hebrides with a rich history dating back to the Neolithic era, but also hold some tragic stories as well with monuments to a seaplane crash and an emigrant shipwreck too. We journey back to catch the ferry before returning to the hotel for our last night stay on the wonderful islands. 

DAY 4

After breakfast this morning we depart the hotel and take the ferry crossing from Lochmaddy to Uig on the Isle of Skye. Enjoy a tour through the island on the journey back to the mainland today with a stop at Kilt Rock Waterfall and Broadford before our overnight stay in a local Highlands hotel. Enjoy dinner this evening in the hotel.

DAY 5

After breakfast our coach will take you through the stunning Highland scenery and back to your drop off points after this memorable Hebridean adventure.

ISLES OF  BENBECULA HOUSE HOTEL - BENBECULA

The Isle of Benbecula House Hotel is located on the spinal route between North Uist and South Uist with fantastic views either side and a dining conservatory overlooking local waters at sunset. Here there is lots of character and history and is very popular with fauna, flora and bird seeking communities. Despite its unprepossessing appearance and slightly dated interiors, the hotel offers a high standard of service and provides a range of ensuite single, twin and double bedrooms, TV, hairdryer, free Wi-Fi and tea and coffee making facilities. The Isle of Benbeluca House Hotel is fully licensed with a good selection of whiskies, wines & spirits and ales from the Creagorry Bar supported by a food menu that is shaped from Scottish and seasonal local produce.
