Excursions

DAY 1

Enjoy the journey north today through the lowlands and Highlands and arrive in the small village Strathpeffer to check into our Ben Wyvis Hotel for your first night stay. Enjoy a delicious evening meal.

DAY 2

After breakfast in the hotel, enjoy a full day excursion to the magical Isle of Skye. Travel through the unspoilt scenery of Strath Bran and Strath Carron before crossing the famous bridge to Skye. Soak up the views of the Inner Sound, Scalpay & Raasay before arriving in the harbour town of Portree. Time to explore here at leisure before we make our way back to the hotel for evening meal.

DAY 3

We depart the hotel in Strathpeffer and begin our journey along the North Coast 500 Route. The breathtaking coastal scenery is the highlight of our tour, and we have stops at viewpoints along the way to Durness including Ardvreck Castle and Kylesku. Enjoy time at Sango Bay for lunch (packed lunch provided) then journey along the stunning twists and turns of the North Coast until we reach Thurso, Britain’s most Northerly town and rich in heritage. We check into the hotel here for the first of our two nights stay. Enjoy dinner this evening in the hotel restaurant.

DAY 4

Enjoy time in Thurso this morning, before travelling along by the glorious sand dunes of Dunnet Beach, where we stop to stretch our legs before onto John O’Groats. There are shops and places to eat here and of course get your picture taken at the famous signpost! There will be time for those who wish to walk to the Duncansby Stacks. If weather permits we will stop at Nybster Broch where there is a short walk to see the magnificent Iron Age remains. We also visit Wick and visit the fascinating Heritage Museum and have leisure time to explore. (Museum May & July only)

DAY 5

After breakfast this morning join the coach for the return journey home along the East Coast of the NC500 Route, with a few rest stops on the way in Dornoch and Aviemore.
