WINDERMERE LAKE CRUISE & HAVERTHWAITE STEAM TRAIN
Begin the day with a stop in the ancient village of Cartmel, famous for its 12th century priory, racecourse and also the home of sticky toffee pudding. After which we travel to Haverthwaite for our nostalgic steam train journey. Enjoy the trip as you are whisked along the tracks to Lakeside where you will then enjoy a lovely 1 hour cruise to Bowness on the other side of the lake. You can enjoy time here for lunch in one of the many cafes or restaurants then relax and enjoy the wonderful Windermere vistas.
AMBLESIDE, GRASMERE & KENDAL
A day full of breathtaking scenery as you tour through the stunning Lake District and enjoy visits to some of the most popular towns in the area including Ambleside, Grasmere & Kendal.
MUNCASTER CASTLE
This morning we tour along the west and have a morning visit to the stately Muncaster Castle overlooking the River Esk. One of Cumbria’s popular visitor attractions, this historically haunted castle is still a family home, where you can explore the many opulent rooms and medieval Great Hall at your leisure. There are also beautiful gardens, grounds and owl centre too which houses many birds of prey and hosts daily demonstrations of their amazing prowess. Time for lunch in the café before we return to the hotel through the medieval village of Cartmel.
