FILEY & SCARBOROUGH

Enjoy a morning trip to the seaside resort of Filey, a short drive down the coast from Scarborough. With its long stretch of golden sands, Filey is widely regarded as one of the best beaches in all of Yorkshire and is backed by an elegant town with Edwardian buildings and collection of gorgeous Victorian gardens. Crescent Gardens has a variety of seats and benches where you can sit amongst the fragrant borders, and a bandstand where you can listen to performances of some of Yorkshire’s finest brass bands during the summer months.  In the afternoon we return to Scarborough where you have leisure time. For a lively holiday with all the fun of the fair head to South Bay where you’ll find a bustling beach and lots of amusements. If you prefer the more traditional getaway, stick to the North Bay area where the quieter beach is perfect for rock pooling and you’ll find a miniature railway and the wonderful Peasholm Park.

FLAMBOROUGH, BRIDLINGTON & SEWERBY HALL

Flamborough Head is one of the most spectacular areas of chalk cliffs in Britain, standing 400 feet high. The chalk was laid down millions of years ago and the soaring cliffs are home to one of the largest sites of nesting sea birds in England, boasting a rare colony of gannets. Spend time here before we travel to Bridlington. There are two glorious stetches of sans, promenade with cafes galore and you’ll find an array of independent shops and galleries in the Old Town. Then there's time in the afternoon to visit Sewerby Hall & Gardens - a Grade I listed Georgian house set in 50 acres of finely manicured parkland set on cliffside overlooking Bridligton.

WHITBY, STAITHES & RUNSWICK BAY

Whitby is a favourite resort of many, with its ruined Abbey made famous in Bram Stokers Dracula novel. Wander through the towns' busy quayside with its many shops and cafes to enjoy. There is also the Captain Cook Museum, Pannett Park & Gardens, Church of St Mary and the beautiful Whitby Beach to enjoy too. Our next stop is the picturesque harbour town of Staithes, with its colourful cottages and traditional wooden boats which have been featured in countless postcards and paintings. Take a wander down winding cobbled streets that are filled with characterful fisherman’s cottages as you head down to the harbour and beach at the bottom of Staithes. Enjoy a crab sandwich at the local seafood restaurant before we travel to Runswick Bay where you can enjoy the sheltered sandy beach and surrounding cliffs of this quaint little village. Look out for the Hob Holes - a series of small caves at the base of the cliffs which legend has it were the homes of hobgoblins.
