Today we visit Castle Menzies, a spectacular 16th Century Scottish castle which was the seat of the Clan Menzies for over 500 years. Architecturally fascinating and rustically authentic, it is a splendid example of the transition in Scottish castles from earlier Highland fortresses to later mansion houses. Enjoy a guided tour led by the Castle Manager who will give an fabulous insight into the history and stories of the castle, which include a visit from Bonnie Prince Charlie. Following the tour where will be some tea/coffee & home-made cakes served in the castle. We then travel to Pitlochry for some leisure time before your High Tea at The Salutation Hotel in Perth.
